Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryTHORDIS GUDRUN (DISA) BERGQUIST Peacefully on June 6, 2001 at the Victoria General Hospital, Thordis Gudrun (Disa) Bergquist, of Lundar, MB. Disa was born in the family home in Lundar, MB on September 3, 1915. Disa met and married Gus in Lundar, MB, later moving to Garrick, SK to his homestead there. This is where their daughter Gladys was born. Some years later, they purchased the hotel in Shipman, SK and resided there for a number of years. Finally they moved to Prince Albert, SK where Gus took a job with the Saskatchewan Timber Board, and Disa became a cook at the Victoria Hospital. After Gus death, Disa moved back to Lundar and took up residence at the Lundar Senior Citizens home and later the Personal Care Home. Disa is survived by a son-in-law Dale Piercy of Lakewood, WA; grandsons, Greg, Eric (Charlene), and a great-granddaughter Mollie. Also surviving are two brothers, Leifur (Eva), Dennis (Brenda) three sisters, Helen (Howard) Malcolm, Jocelyn Hordal, and Mercedes Johnson, along with numerous nieces, nephews, many good friends both in Manitoba and Saskatchewan. She was predeceased by her husband Gus in 1979; and her daughter Gladys in 1998; four brothers, Magnus, Olafur, Halldor, Carl and a sister Lillian. Funeral service will be held on Friday, June 8 at 2:00 p.m. in the Lundar Lutheran Church with Rev. Donna J. Smalley officiating. Interment to follow in the Lundar Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lundar Personal Care Home, Lundar, MB, R0C 1Y0, or to the Manitoba Cancer Treatment & Research Foundation, 100 Olivia St., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9, or to a charity of ones choice.
