Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFLORENCE MAUD COOK On Friday, June 15, 2001, Florence Cook passed away peacefully at St. Boniface Hospital. Born in on March 4, 1918, Florence was predeceased by her brother Phillip. She will be fondly remembered by her sister Francis; her brother Charles; and her nieces, Jennifer, Sally and Lynne; her great-nephew Chris; and great-nieces, Eluned and Jessica. She will also be remembered by her sister-in-law and lifelong friend Jeannie. After qualifying as a teacher, Florence taught in Britain, British Columbia and Manitoba until her retirement. Her love of children continued in her volunteer work at the Book Corner at Childrens Hospital and with UNICEF. Florence had a deep commitment to those in need and she spent many volunteer hours with West Broadway Community Ministry and Agape Table as well as supporting many other organizations and causes including Habitat for Humanity and refugee families. She was an active member of All Saints Anglican Church. Florence was a member of the Manitoba Naturalists Society and Weekday Wanderers. She was a committed birder and traveller. Her family wishes to thank the staff of E4 at St. Boniface Hospital and Eleanor Brownlee of Pastoral Care for their care of Florence. They also express their thanks to Florences special friend Wilma for supporting her in the hospital. Florences friends are invited to a time of remembrance and celebration of her life on Wednesday, June 20 at 7:00 p.m. at All Saints Anglican Church, Broadway and Osborne. If desired, donations in her name can be given to any of Florences favoured charities or associations.
