IRIS ARGENTA GRAHAM (nee GREEN) August 30, 1917 - June 8, 2001 Iris passed away gently at Victoria General Hospital early Friday morning, June 8, 2001 following a long battle with emphysema. She was 83. Iris is survived by her son Peter; daughter-in-law Pat; granddaughter Lisa; niece Shirley (Tom and family) of Kingston; nephew Dick (Jill and family) of Ottawa; grandniece Jennifer (currently of Laos) in-laws, Herb, Ena and Craig; and many close friends (especially Joan and Gordon). Iris was predeceased by her husband of 51 years, John Allan Douglas Graham; by her parents, Frederick William and Catherine Green; and her siblings, Buelah ("Buddy"), Frederick, Myrtle, and Olive. Iris was born August 30, 1917 and was raised and educated in Winnipeg where she attended Kelvin High School. She worked before, during, and after the war in the office of Ogilvie Mills and was married to John in 1942 while he was home to receive his commission with the Queens Own Cameron Highlanders of Canada. Iris was a cancer survivor and a supporter of many charitable causes. She took pride in canvassing for the Cancer Society and Heart and Stroke Association while her health permitted it. Together with her family and friends, she spent many summers enjoying the family cabin at West Hawk Lake. Iris was loved by everyone who knew her and will be greatly missed. A memorial service will be held Monday, June 18 at 2:00 p.m. at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Ave., entrance on Aubrey Street. The family wishes to extend its thanks to all the staff at the Vic who were so kind to Iris during the time she spent there. In lieu of flowers, if friends so wish, memorial donations may be made to their favourite local charity. NEIL BARDAL INC. 949 - 2200 www.nbardal.mb.ca
