MARGARET DOERKSEN (nee PENNER) With her family by her side, on Friday, June 8 at the Whitemouth District Health Centre, Margaret Doerksen went to be with her savior. Margaret will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her daughters, Helen (Jim) Nitzsche of Whitemouth and Sylvia of Beausejour; sons, Gladwin (Evelyn) of Elma and Dayton of Winnipeg; grandchildren, Jessica and Steven Nitzsche, Grayson and Shauna Doerksen; sisters, Lydia, Helen, Marianne, and Naomi; brothers, Dan, Henry, Menno, Cornie, and Joe as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends. Margaret was predeceased by her husband Wilfried in 1993; her parents, Mary and Cornelius Penner; stepmother Anne Penner, and her brothers, Edward, Peter, and Ben. Margaret was born in Ste. Anne Hospital on September 30, 1919, baptized on November 24, 1935, and married Wilfried on July 30, 1939. Margaret resided most of her life in the Elma and Whitemouth district. She loved being with her family, doing housework, sewing, baking, especially gardening, and yard work with her husband. Margaret was a woman of incredible strength and unshakable faith. She was an ever loving, caring, and giving wife, mother, and grandmother who will be sorely missed. The family would like to thank the Whitemouth District Health Centre for all the care and compassion given to their Mother. A prayer service will be held on Wednesday, June 13 at 7:00 p.m. at the Sobering Funeral Chapel, Beausejour. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 14 at 2:00 p.m. also at Sobering Funeral Chapel with Pastor Don Reimer officiating. Viewing will be held one hour prior to the service.
