ALINE MARIE WIESS Peacefully, in her sons arms, on Monday, June 11, 2001 at the Concordia Hospital, Aline Wiess (nee Grosjean) passed away at the age of 60 years. Aline will be lovingly remembered by her husband Fred; her sons, Jordan (wife Gail) and Terrance Terry (and girlfriend Shelly) grandson Liam (grandmas little sweetheart) brothers, Leo and Paul; and sister Irene. She also leaves numerous relatives and many friends. Aline was predeceased by her parents, Aurore and Clement; and her brother Arcade. Aline was born on June 14, 1940 just outside of Cutknife, SK where she worked on the family farm and attended grade school. After graduating, Aline moved to Selkirk to attend nursing school at the Selkirk Mental Health Hospital, where she graduated with her RPN. Aline began her nursing career at the Mental Hospital, then moved to the Tudor Home and finally Betel Home in Selkirk where she just finished her 25th year and was looking forward to a couple more. In July of 1962 she married Fred Weiss, in Selkirk, where they spent their lives together and raised their family. Family was very important to Mom and she was happy when everyone was together for holidays and special occasions. Alines love and devotion to her children, her grandson and friends were unsurpassed and will be sorely missed. Her beautiful spirit will live on in all of us who knew her. A memorial and celebration of Alines life will be held on Friday, June 15 at 11:00 a.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, 309 Eveline St., Selkirk. Honorary pallbearers will be Betty Thornson, Mindy Chanas, Helen Wiess, Rita Grosjean, Shirley Linkaitis and Gwen Gowerluk. The family would like to thank the many doctors and health care professionals for all their support and care for Mom over the past year. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations may be made in Alines memory to the Canadian Cancer Society, Manitoba Divison, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
