GERTRUDE IDA TAYLOR (nee BROWN) 1924 - 2001 Gertrude, beloved wife, mother and grandmother passed away peacefully in her sleep on June 14, 2001, age 77, at the Victoria General Hospital. She was predeceased by her father Thomas, mother Marie, sisters Evelyn and Aileene and her beloved husband Clarence. Gertrude is survived by her loving son Greg and friend Colleen; two grandsons Jarrett and Riley. She will also be remembered by three brothers, Tom, Dave and John; four sisters, Dora, Margaret, Dorothy and Norma and their families as well as many nieces and nephews. Special nieces, Marlene, Karen, Jackie, Darlene and families; special nephews, Dave, Ken, Cal and Donald and families. "Mom was a loving, caring and devoted woman to her family and friends. She was a proud mother and grandmother. Her thoughtfulness will be missed by many. She has set an example throughout her life of what a mother and woman should be like. I am so proud of her and will love her forever." Greg. Funeral service will be held Monday, June 18 at 1:00 p.m. at Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway. Interment will follow in Brookside Cemetery. Special thanks to all the doctors, nurses and other staff at Health Sciences Centre and Victoria General Hospital who took care of Gertrude.
