ALLAN MCCALLUM SHANKIE On June 10, 2001, Allan passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Margaret in 1993; his parents Daniel and Beatrice; and his brother Alexander. Allan will be lovingly remembered by his son Allan and his partner Sheila; daughter Karen and husband Jeffrey; grandchildren Gillian Shankie, Cameron and Richard Smith; brother William and wife Mae; sister Margaret Turner; sister-in-law Jean Muir, and many nieces and nephews. Allan was born in Lanark, Scotland on May 25, 1925. He served honourably in the Royal Navy during the Second World War. He and Margaret were married in 1949 and came to Canada in 1951. Allan worked as a carpenter at Standard Aero Ltd. for 27 years until his retirement in 1990. Allan was a man who loved his family above all else and we will always remember him for his generous nature and keen sense of humour. We would like to thank the Home Care workers who helped us keep our Dad at home where he belonged throughout his illness, and the 5th floor staff at Grace Hospital for their kindness and excellent care. A private family service has been held. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba or a charity of your choice. God is the treasure of my soul The source of lasting joy A joy which want shall not impair Nor death itself destroy Lord, according to your word Let me in peace depart My eyes have your salvation seen And gladness fills my heart We love you Dad LECLAIRE BROTHERS in care of arrangements, 775 - 2220.
