Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALLAN JOHN NEIL JOHNSON Music was his passion. Al walked through life to the beat of his drums until they stopped on Monday, June 11, 2001. Born in Winnipeg on May 17, 1926, Al grew up to a musical career where he met his beloved wife Helen. Helen, his biggest fan, predeceased him on July 31, 1991. He also leaves his sister Eleanor; his close friend and cousin Wilma; nieces; nephews; and many close friends. His contribution to the world of music was enormous. Al was a life member of Local 145 of the American Federation of Musicians of USA and Canada. He served on the associations executive board. During his many years in the Vancouver area, he played at the Cave, many local nightclubs and out at Harrison Hot Springs. CBC radio and television productions were also included in his list of musical accomplishments. When multiple sclerosis cut short his career as a drummer, the music world lost a tremendous talent. Als other passions included flying gliders (soaring), watching baseball and playing golf, winning numerous trophies at the Musicians Association annual golf tournaments. Als life will be celebrated at a memorial service on Wednesday, June 20 at 1:30 p.m. at Highland United Church, Edgemont Village. In lieu of flowers, donations to the MS Society or a favourite charity would be appreciated. FIRST MEMORIAL (604) 980 - 3451
