GENEVIEVE SOPHIA MEIKLE (nee FOX) It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Genevieve Meikle on June 15, 2001 at the Seven Oaks Hospital. She was predeceased by her husband Mike in 2000, father Richard and mother Blanche, sister Betty and brother Carleton. Genevieve was born in Kingston, Michigan in 1918. She came to Canada in 1940 when she married Mike. She was a devoted wife and mother. After raising her three children she returned to the workplace taking a position with the St. James Public Library, retiring in 1980. She enjoyed 15 years wintering in Pharr, Texas and spent many enjoyable summers at the Whiteshell and travelling throughout Canada and the U.S. Mom loved to cook and entertain using her finest china and silver, always with a new recipe. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughters Patricia of Victoria and Sharon of Calgary; son Richard and daughter-in-law Sharon; grandsons Brock and Braden all of Winnipeg and brother Richard (Sally) of San Diego. We were fortunate that the family were able to spend the last few days with mom before her passing. We wish to thank the nurses and staff of 4-11 for their care and compassion in her final days.
