Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMURDOCH BERT McLEOD After a lengthy illness, we sadly mark the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend on June 15, 2001 at Bethania Nursing Home. Berts memory will be forever cherished by his wife Margaret; son Wayne (Marilyn) and his treasured grandsons Colin and Kyle. He will be sadly missed by his brother Clifford (Rita) and his many nieces and nephews and relatives in both Ontario and British Columbia. He was predeceased by his mother Marion; father John who both descended from the Isle of Lewis in Northern Scotland; and brothers, Duncan, (Florence), Johnny, and Angus. Born and raised in Garson, MB, Bert married Margaret in July 7, 1947, which formed the beginning of a long and devoted partnership. He worked the majority of his career in the Engineering Office of the Winnipeg Eatons store before retiring in 1975. Bert was also a long-time former member of the Lord Selkirk Masonic Lodge and an avid member and supporter of the John Black Memorial United Church throughout his life. Bert cared deeply for his family and will remain a lasting inspiration. Though his later years were fraught with illness, he always managed a smile. The family wishes to thank both the Pastoral Care Unit of John Black Memorial United Church, and all the friends and relatives who have extended their support during this difficult time. Our heartfelt thanks to the nurses and health care workers of Bethania Personal Care home for the care and loving kindness shown to Bert over the past three years. You are truly Gods Angels. A special thanks to Joan English for being such a wonderful friend to Bert and the family for many years. Your kindness will always be remembered. A Celebration of Life for Bert will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 20 at John Black Memorial United Church, 898 Henderson Hwy., with Pastorial team Rev. Jim Hatherly and Anne Duncan officiating. Interment will be held at 10:00 a.m. at Elmwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if friends so wish, donations may be made in Berts memory in care of the John Black Memorial United Church. Hold Fast Im Free Im following the path that God has laid for me. I took His hand when I heard Him call; I closed my eyes and left it all. I could not stay another day; To laugh, to love , to work or play. Tasks left undone must stay that way; I found that place on that special day. If my parting has left a void; Then fill it with remembered joy. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss. Ah yes, these things I too will miss. My lifes been full, Ive savoured much, Good Friends, good times, A loved ones touch. Perhaps my time seems all too brief, Dont lengthen it now with undue grief. Lift up your heart and share with me; God wanted me now - He set me free!
