JOHN RAYMOND BARBER Peacefully on June 16, 2001 John Barber passed away in Grandview, MB at the age of 80 years. John was predeceased by his wife Betty Jean Munn Barber; his parents, John Wilburn and Ivy (Shoaff) Barber; and two brothers, Earl and Wilford. He will be lovingly remembered by his sons and daughters, Boyd and Jean of Winnipeg, Allison of Youbau, BC, Molly and Rod Neumann of Regina, SK, Kathrine of Arlington, MA, Deirdre and Richard of Ashland, OR, Dixon of Seattle, WA, and John of Alaska. He will also be sadly missed by his grandchildren, Kate, Rachel, Elizabeth, Delaney, John, Allison, Joselyn, Matthew, and Alexandra. Our dad was a survivor. He lived through the Great Depression and served in the Royal Canadian Air Force in England during the Second World War. John spent the rest of his working years underground at Hudson Bay Mining and Smelting in Flin Flon, MB, working in the iron mines of Minnesota, and the nuclear power plants in Wisconsin. John was a proud union member of his I.B.E.W. local in Green Bay, WI. Dad successfully brought to adulthood seven children, all of whom knew him as being absolutely generous in all respects. Dad spent his summers during retirement at the cottage on Singush Lake in Duck Mountain. He loved that life and lived for it. He will be especially missed by his friends in Wisconsin, where he spent his winters. All his children have lost their Dad, but the oldest son, also lost his best friend. Heartfelt thanks go out to the staff of the Grandview District Hospital. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 7 at 2:00 p.m. in Carberry, MB at the St. Agnes Anglican Church. Arrangements entrusted to: GLEN LAWN FUNERAL HOME 455 LAGIMODIERE BLVD. 982-7550
