ROSE-MARIE DESAUTELS It is with great regret and sadness that we announce the passing of Rose-Marie Desautels on June 18, 2001. Rose-Maries memory will be cherished by her two daughters, Kristyne Sachse of Calgary, AB and Karen Sachse, son-in-law Philippe Tardif, and granddaughter Sydney of Montreal, PQ. She is also survived by one brother Fernand of Montreal, and many other relatives and friends. Mom was a very quiet and serene person but nevertheless touched our lives in many ways. She will be a great loss to us all and will long be remembered for her goodness to others. As a very sensitive person, she held strong emotional ties to those she loved, and was always held in high esteem by those who were fortunate enough to know her. Mom was born in Otterburne, MB and moved to St. Boniface as a young girl. Then she attended St. Josephs Academy and finished school in 1956. After this, she became part of the working world. She started her working career at Dressler Headwear, followed by Great West Life. She left the workforce to have her first child in 1971, and her second in 1975. She devoted many years to taking care of her children and then joined the St. Boniface School Division No. 4 in 1983 from which she had to leave in 1999 due to illness. Many thanks go to some very special people, in particular, Angie and Roger Filion, Lillian and Andre LaFleche, Louise Thibault, Louise Ulrich, WHRA nurse, Myrna Brownlee, Dr. Ian Maxwell and staff at Victoria Hospital, Dr. Paul Daenick, Dr. Fiona Crow, the team of doctors and all the staff in Palliative Care at St. Boniface Hospital, and many other helpful and kind friends. Mom was also helped through her illness by her great faith in God, and although she did not understand why God had chosen this path for her, she always knew He had a good reason for it, and all would be revealed to her in time. Those who were close to her know it is because He needed another Guardian Angel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 21 at St. Bernadette Parish, 820 Cottonwood, with Fr. Fred Olds presiding. A reception will be held after the mass at the St. Boniface Parish Centre. Interment will be at St. Boniface Cemetery, with attendance reserved for immediate family only. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Childrens Wish Foundation or to CancerCare Manitoba. EDWARD J. COUTU LTD. FUNERAL DIRECTOR 253 - 5086
