Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRENE JOSEPH SIMEON VERRIER Peacefully on June 18, 2001 at his Lee River summer cottage, Rene passed way at the age of 77 years, with his wife by his side. Rene was predeceased by his father Edmond; his mother Alice; his brother Paul; sisters-in-law, Anne and Rae; sister Evelyn and brother-in-law Reg. Renes memory will be cherished by his wife, Verla; his two sons, Edmond (Marion), Randall; and one daughter Lois (Gary Terleski) brother Joseph; two granddaughters, Jenine and Kimberly; and five grandsons, Craig, Graham, Ryan (Jodi), Todd and Bryan; and one great-granddaughter Ainsley; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by the childrens mother Margaret. Rene was born and educated in St. Laurent, MB. As a young man he worked in northern Ontario and northern Manitoba in logging and lumber business. He spent many years in the garage business a various locations in the city. His last years of employment were for the City of Winnipeg Public Works Department, retiring in 1989. An avid sportsman, Renes hobbies included hunting, fishing, ski-dooing and bird watching. He was a long-time member of Ducks Unlimited and the Purple Martin Club. Rene enjoyed many hours at the lake and building birdhouses. Memorial service will be held on Friday, June 22 at 2:00 p.m. at Klassen Funeral Chapel, 1897 Henderson Hwy. Viewing and prayers Thursday, June 21 at 7:00 p.m. at the Chapel. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations may be made in Renes memory to Diabetes Foundation of Manitoba, 1114-233 Kennedy St., Winnipeg, MB, R3C 3J5, or to a charity of your choice. Arrangements entrusted to Klassen Funeral Chapel, 338-0331.
