Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROBERT ALEXANDER COWAN Bob passed away suddenly, Monday, June 18, 2001 at home. Bob was born May 21, 1948 in Brandon, MB. His formal education was in Brandon, culminating with a Masters Degree in Social Work from the University of Manitoba in 1969. His career was important to him. He held a variety of social work positions in Manitoba and British Columbia as a caseworker, administrator, and his last position Director of Mental Health Programs of Manitoba, leaving government services in 1997. Bobs family was always important to him. He was predeceased by his father Alec (1986) and his mother Florence (1997). He leaves to mourn in Winnipeg, children, Daniel, Derek, and Erin, and their mother Vicki; son Rick of British Columbia; sister Maureen of British Columbia; nephew Bob of Brandon; and many more relatives and friends. Bobs burdens have been lifted and may his spirit now rest peacefully. He will forever be remembered. A private family service will be held. A private family interment will take place in Waverley Memorial Gardens, 1501 Waverley St. If friends so desire, donations in Bobs memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 102-310 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB R3C 0S6, or Addictions Foundation of Manitoba Finance Department, 3rd Floor, 1031 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3G 0R8.
