ADA BARBOUR (nee CLARK) Peacefully in her sleep in the early hours of June 19, 2001 at the Rosewood Lodge, Stonewall, Ada Barbour, aged 101 years, formerly of Balmoral, MB. Surviving to mourn her loss, one brother George Clark; one son John (Flo) two daughters, Jean (Robert) Kuran and Ethel Gottfreid. There are 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Jack; five sisters, Eleanor, Jessie, Margaret, Gertrude and Louise; and three brothers, Roy, Doug and Percy. Ada was born in Prince Edward Island on March 17, 1900, and moved to Argyle, MB as a teenager. She married Jack Barbour in 1923, and enjoyed 48 years of marriage until his passing in 1971. Ada was devoted to her family, and enjoyed gardening and sewing quilts for her grandchildren. A private family graveside service will be held at the Victoria Cemetery, Balmoral. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 22 at the Balmoral United Church. Rev. Ken Anstie will officiate. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to a charity of ones choice. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Stonewall, in care of arrangements.
