OLGA ALEXANDRA SHIELS (nee BLAIR) Peacefully, on June 19, 2001 at Riverview Health Centre, with her family at her side, Olga Shiels, beloved wife of Alex Shiels passed away after 58 years of wonderful marriage. Olga was born the third of December, 1923 in Croydon, Surrey, U.K. She had enjoyed her life to the fullest since coming to Canada in 1961. Olga leaves to mourn her loving husband Alex; children, Roderick, Morag, Fergus (Sally) grandchildren, David, Robyn and Angela; and cousins, nephews and nieces in Canada and the U.K. Olga was a member of Daughters of the Nile, Khartum Ladies Auxiliary and also volunteered for many years at the Lenox Bell Lodge. Olga was a member of many organizations but her pride and joy was her membership in the Eastern Star. She was a member of Patricia Chapter No. 8 for over 25 years. Olga held many elected positions in the Eastern Star including two terms as worthy matron and was recently appointed as an officer in the Grand Chapter of Manitoba. Olga was always there for her family and friends. When something was needed, no matter how big or small, her response was, "Yes, Ill do it", you never heard the word no. Olga was the backbone of our family; she always had a good word for all. She was the Boss. We will miss her love, help and advice dearly. The family wishes to thank, with all our hearts, Dr. M. Shnider, the staff at Victoria Hospital and staff at 3 East, Riverview Health Centre. A private family interment will be held at Garry Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to the Eastern Star Chalet, 525 Cathcart St., Winnipeg, MB R3R 0S6. Good Bye Boss Till we meet again Kerrs Funeral Chapel is in care of arrangements; phone 943-6688.
