MABEL MILDRED SRIGLEY nee HERMANSON (LYNDS) Born July 5, 1920, resident of Winnipeg, MB, passed away on June 21, 2001 at the age of 80 years after a lengthy illness in the care of the staff of Tuxedo Villa. Mildred is survived by her children, Dani Burch, Skip and Joy Lynds, Barry and Sandy Lynds, Darrell and Linda Lynds. Her grand-children, Jeff Simpson, Marcy and Dean Laird, Jackie and Trevor LaBossiere, Robyn Lynds, Michael Lynds; and her great-grandchildren, Katherine and Danielle of California, Taylor and Brandy Laird. Her sisters and brothers, Winnie Carson, Ann and Don Cardy, Harold and Marge Hermanson, Thomas Hermanson, May and Ed Hooper, Grace and Barry Cox; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Harry and Mabel Hermanson; granddaughter Susan Simpson; and husband of 19 years Alvin Srigley. Mildred grew up on a farm near the community of Petersfield, MB. She went to school there and later to Selkirk. Memories of the farm, the cold winters and warm summers, the people on the farm and the good times that were had by all when all the families gathered for special events at the farm, these times, were part of her fondest memories. Mildred and Al loved to travel all around Canada and the U.S.A. and were always on the go by car, bus or plane, seeing new sights and checking out the flowers as they went. They lived for many years in a little home on the Red River, then in a trailer court in Winnipeg in their final years. Mildred made many friends in both communities. Mildred loved to paint and go to concerts with her husband, which he often conducted. She enjoyed her home, getting company, old friends and receiving flowers. A special thank-you to the staff of unit 3 Tuxedo Villa who helped make the Tuxedo Villa her home in her last days. A graveside service will be held at Little Britain United Church, two miles north of Lockport (east side) on Wednesday, June 27 at 2:00 p.m. "Mom will be missed, may she rest in peace" NEIL BARDAL INC. 949-2200
