MARJORIE ELEANOR TRAVIS Marjorie Travis, 73, of Van Buren, AR, passed away on Monday, June 11, 2001 at a local nursing home. A memorial service will be held in Winnipeg, MB on Friday, July 6 at 12:30 p.m. at the Chapel Lawn Funeral home, 4000 Portage Ave. Marjorie was born on September 27, 1927, in Winnipeg. She is survived by her husband Dr. Larry Travis; her son Daral (Cheryl) of Thunder Bay, ON; two daughters, Dawn Pincock (Don) of Winnipeg and Jamie Leib (Rob) of Bellingham, WA. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Lee-Ann Travis, Kimberlee Travis, Bob Pincock, Jori Pincock, Brenden Leib, Connor Leib, and Jorden Leib. Marge grew up in Winnipeg where she met her husband, Larry, of 54 years. They lived in Winnipeg and Halifax while Larry attended medical school and played hockey. They moved to Dryden, ON in 1958 and lived there until 1980 making many lifelong friends. Marges kind and caring ways helped create many lasting friendships that will always be cherished wherever they lived. Marge enjoyed caring for her family, cooking and entertaining. She was known to be the life of many parties. In 1980 Marge and Larry moved to Van Buren where they have lived and worked and thoroughly enjoyed the milder winters and the people. The family would like to thank all the doctors, nurses and nursing home staff that took great care of Marge during her illness.
