Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySHEILA MARY GUNN (nee BUTLER) Died peacefully at home in her sleep on June 16, 2001. Predeceased in 1999 by Larry, the love of her life, Sheila will always be remembered for her generosity, loyalty and tremendous joie de vivre. She will be missed terribly by all who knew her but especially by her children, Pamela Waters (Lindsay), Christopher (Bonnie Broderick), Jonathan (Donna) and Paula (James Hansen) her grandchildren, Samantha, Nicholas, Alexander, Angela and Rebecca; and sisters-in-law, Mary Doris and Lucille. Sheila was predeceased by her sisters, Betty and Kath; brother Gerry; and infant triplets, Richard, Judith, and Michael. Sheila was born in Leeds, Yorkshire on February 2, 1922 and served as a radar plotter with the WAAF during the Second World War. While serving in Scotland, she met Larry, an RCAF officer. They married in April 1944 in Yorkshire, moved to Canada and settled in Winnipeg in 1949. She enjoyed 18 years as a successful real estate agent in Winnipeg before retiring with Larry to Victoria in 1989. Sheila kept up a lively correspondence with friends and family around the globe and cherished every year of retirement with her beloved Larry in their home by the sea. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 23, at St. Marys Anglican Church, 1701 Elgin Ave. in Oak Bay. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Salvation Army or the Victoria Hospice Society, 1940 Fort St., Victoria, BC V8R L2B would be much appreciated.
