Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryERNEST REGINALD WILLIAMS Reg Williams passed peacefully into the presence of his Lord on Friday, January 4, 2002, at the age of 90. Reg was predeceased by his beloved wife Gertrude; sons, Ernest and Donald; brothers, Alf, Jim and Don, and parents Ernest and Clara. Left to cherish his memory are children, Robert and Sharon Williams, Ruth and Ken Hayes, and Karen Williams; his sister Daisy Orr; grandchildren, Marla and David Dyck, Craig and Kiely Williams, Tamara and Andreas Kramer, Kimberly and Gary St. Amand, Jonathan Williams, Andrew and Jeffrey Hayes; in-laws, Ben and Helen Scarff, Peg Williams and Olga Williams, along with a wide circle of extended family and dear friends. Reg was born in Dover, England, on April 21, 1911. The family immigrated to Canada and settled in St. James, the community where Reg lived for most of his life. Strong faith in God, commitment to his family, and extensive involvement in Christian ministries characterized Regs life. His friendly smile, outgoing manner, and quick wit endeared him to all who knew him. Reg was a long-time member of the St. James Gospel Chapel, and served in a variety of roles including Young Peoples Group Leader, Sunday School Teacher and Superintendent, and Church Elder. He was involved in various music ministries as well. Reg also served with Faith Bible Camp, Inter Varsity Christian Fellowship, Manitoba Pioneer Camp, The McKinnon Foundation, and Whiteshell Keswick Fellowship. An accountant by profession, Reg was employed with several companies, most notably Woods Bag & Canvas and Lloyd Bag Company. He had retired in 1976. A memorial service will be held at the St. James Gospel Chapel, Inglewood Street at Ness Avenue on Wednesday, January 9 at 2:30 p.m. Interment will take place at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens that same afternoon at 1:00 p.m. If friends so desire, donations in memory of Reg may be made to Faith Bible Camp, Box 42059, RPO Ferry Rd., Winnipeg, MB R3J 3X7, or to Assiniboia-Charleswood Community Church Building Fund, 760 Charleswood Rd., Winnipeg, MB R3R 1K6. The family wish to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the wonderful caregivers at the St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care Unit, the WRHA Home Care Unit, and staff and friends at the Metropolitan Kiwanis Courts.
