DONALD McKENZIE YOUNG After a valiant fight with cancer Don passed away on Tuesday, June 19, 2001. Beloved husband for 59 years of Lucile (nee Davidson) and loving father of Barbara and her husband Bob Baydak of Winnipeg, and Bruce and his wife Diane. Loving grandfather of Kristen Baydak and Collin and Lara Young. Don was born in Edinburgh, Scotland on August 14, 1915 and came to Canada with his family when he was seven. They lived in Winnipeg, MB where he went to school and university. he joined the Canadian Indemnity Company and was with them for 43 years, moving with them to Toronto in 1972. He curled in Winnipeg at the Wildewood Club and in Oakville, ON at the Oakville Curling Club for over 25 years. He was predeceased by his parents, Jamesina and William Young; brothers, Bill, George, John; and sisters, Nainie, Chrissie and Cathie. He leaves many nieces and nephews. Visitation at the Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Rd. West, Oakville from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Friday, June 22. Funeral service 1:00 p.m. Saturday at St. Cuthberts Anglican Church, 1541 Maple Grove Rd., Oakville. Cremation. Memorial contributions to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
