Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARGOT "GRETA" ANNA MUNN (nee LETT) In loving memory of Margot "Greta" Anna Munn 79 years who passed away Friday June 22, 2001 at Extendicare Falconbridge in Sudbury. Predeceased by her husband Donald Munn in June, 2000 and by her parents John and Mary Lett. Survived by daughter Jean Brown, son-in-law Morry, and grandchildren Riley and Carrie of Sudbury; daughter Sheila Hennings, son-in-law Bob, grandchildren Paul Granger and Steven Granger of Calgary, Donald Granger of Winnipeg, and great-grandchildren, Logan, Devon Duncan, Selina and Kyla Granger. Survived by her sister Amber Gemmell (husband James) of Toronto, niece and nephew Susan and Andrew Gemmell and nephews David, Peter and Bruce Munn, and her brother-in-law Ross Munn. Great was born in Parry Sound, Ontario on May 3, 1922 and grew up in MacTier and Sudbury. A graduate of Victoria College, University of Toronto, Gretas professional life included employment at the Sudbury Star, Montreal Gazette and the Y.M.C.A. She became a teacher and was employed by the Sudbury Board of Education and the School District of Mystery Lake in Thompson, Manitoba. Greta married Donald Munn in Sudbury in April 1960 and shortly thereafter moved to Thompson, Manitoba where she resided until 1974 when she moved to Winnipeg. In 1998, she and Don returned to Sudbury. As one of Thompsons pioneers, Greta was active in countless community organizations. She was a long time member of the IODE at both the provincial and local levels, Greta was one of the driving forces in the establishment of the Thompson Public Library. Throughout her life, Greta was a devoted member of the United Church of Canada including St. Andrews United Church in Sudbury, St. Johns United Church in Thompson and Charleswood United Church in Winnipeg. Greta was truly loved by all those who knew her, (and will be remembered as a loving and wise mother, grandmother and mother-in-law). Her family is grateful that even as she struggled with Alzheimers disease her gentle, gracious nature endured. Memorial service in the R.J. Barnard Chapel, Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch Street, Monday, June 25, at 11:30 a.m. Cremation in the Parklawn Crematorium. In lieu of flowers donations to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated. (Family will receive friends after 10:30 a.m. Monday.)
