Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMAURICE DESLOGES Suddenly and peacefully, on June 22, 2001 with his beloved wife Camille and his family at his side, Maurice Desloges passed away at St. Boniface Hospital. Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife and constant companion of 68 years Camille; his sons, Georges (Fab), Andre (Mona), Alain; and his daughters, Daisy (Marc), Gilberte; his 16 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother Paul Desloges and his brother-in-law Andre Elias from Belgium and is survived by his sister Germaine Elias, as well as several nieces and nephews in Belgium and in Canada, and very special friends. Maurice was born in Arlon, Belgium on October 2, 1909. On November 6, 1951 he immigrated to Winnipeg, settling in St. Boniface. A devout Christian, he was very involved with the Belgium Sacred Heart Parish where he started a Boy Scout troup that he led for 13 years. He was a lifetime member of the Belgium Veterans Association, and the Belgium Club. He made his living in the painting/decorating trade, and was an accomplished artist who took his training at the lEcole des Beaux Arts in Belgium. He worked in many mediums and his works of art adorn the homes of his children, grandchildren and friends. For many years he donated his time and talent creating wonderful set decorations for his childrens schools, as well as for Folklorama, the Belgium Club, and lAlliance Francaise to name a few. Maurice was a quiet, humble man who never shied away from hard work. He was a devoted husband and father who guided us with his wisdom and worked tirelessly to provide for his family. A self-taught carpenter, plumber and electrician he took great pride in the construction of several cottages at Gull Lake and extensive renovations to the home he lived in for almost 50 years. He spent 20 wonderful summers at Gull Lake surrounded by his children and their families. A man of few words, he demonstrated his love for us through his deeds and by supporting the goals we chose. He was very proud of his family and thankful for their support, especially these past few years. His warm hugs and infinite wisdom will be missed by all of us. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 26 at 7:00 p.m. at Holy Family Church on Archibald, Fr. Ron Leger presiding. Interment will take place immediately following the service at the Belgium Sacred Heart Cemetery on Plinquet and Archibald. Pallbearers will be his grandchildren. We would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to the paramedics and the staff at St. Boniface Emergency Department. Seigneur, ajoute un couvert a ta table car tu recois un invite special - recois le bien chez toi. LECLAIRE BROTHERS in care of arrangements. 775-2220.
