RICHARD OWEN SAVAGE Richard Owen Savage, peacefully passed away the morning of June 22, 2001 at Selkirk Hospital at the age of 70 years, with family at his side. Lovingly remembered by his wife Pat; sons, Sid, Ken (Beki), Dennis (Wendy) seven grandchildren, Carolyn, Jillian, Shane, Kendra, Deanna, Devin, Justine and mother Violet Savage. He was predeceased by his father Richard in 1977. He also leaves his sisters, Vi (Frank) Swonnell, Lil (Alan) Matwichuk, Marion Gray; his brothers, Bill (Diane), Victor (Muriel), Bob (Marina), Harry, David (Kathy) and George. Numerous nieces, nephews and many good friends. Richard was born and grew up in West Kildonan leaving in 1994 to live at his summer home at Boulder Bay. He was a lifetime member of Saint Annes Anglican Church on Burrin Ave. For 37 years he was an active member of the 38th Winnipeg Scout Groups as a Cub, Scout, Scout Master and District Commissioner. He was a printer by trade for 50 years, during which he worked for Eatons Printing, the Public Press and for the last 35 years with the Winnipeg Free Press. He was a loving husband, father and loyal friend. He will be missed. Interment will be at Glen Eden Cemetery on Main Street at 1:30 p.m. on June 25. Memorial service will follow at St. Annes Anglican Church, 253 Burrin Ave. at 3:00 p.m. Donations may be made to a memorial fund for Richard at St. Annes Church or Cancer Care Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave. Many thanks to the caring nursing staff at the Grace and Selkirk Hospitals.
