Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySHIRLEY LILLIAN GREENBERG Peacefully, on Saturday, June 23, 2001 at the Tuxedo Villa Nursing Home, Shirley Lillian Greenberg, beloved wife of David "Friday" Greenberg, mother of Saul (Brenda) and Dan (Roslyn) and devoted grandmother to Sarah, Jenna, Lisa and Paul passed away at the age of 79. Shirley was predeceased by her parents, Harry and Pauline Fainstein, and her brothers Max Fain and Stan Fainstein. She is survived by her sisters Ruth Thompson, Bernice Fishman, her longtime best friend Esther Ginpil and the many nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved. Shirley was born and raised in the north end of Winnipeg before raising her family in River Heights. She was a wife, mother, grandmother and friend to everyone that knew her. She took great pride in her home and in her family. She will always be remembered for her kind heart, gracious hospitality and her deep caring of everyone that was close to her heart. The family wishes to thank all the staff of the Tuxedo Villa Nursing Home for the caring and kindness they showed Shirley and her family. A special thank you to her personal care givers Cora and Marites. Funeral services were held Monday, June 25, at the Shaarey Zedek Synagogue with interment at the Shaarey Zedek Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Jewish National Fund. Shiva will be observed at 525 Cordova St.
