ARTHUR JUERGEN HARTMANN March 23, 1965 - June 22, 2001 On June 22, 2001, surrounded by his family and friends, Arthur Juergen Hartmann passed away at age 36 years, following a short illness. Arthur, the beloved son of Juergen and Loretta Hartmann, was born March 23, 1965. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Arthur and Elsie Lazier, and Arendine and Juergen Hartmann. Left to mourn and cherish his memory are his parents, Juergen and Loretta; very special uncle and aunt, Arthur and Margaret Lazier; cousin Terri Lazier and her daughter Samantha; cousin Cindy Liska, husband Mike and their daughter Amber; aunt Annemarie Gordon and husband Marvin; uncle Gerhard and wife Audrey; uncle Arend and wife Maryanne; aunt Anneliese Coordes and husband Herman; numerous cousins; and his very special friends, Gordon, Brad and Judy, Kelvin and Teresa, life-long friend Dahlton, who Arthur thought of as a cousin, and Nathan, who was more like a brother to him. Arthur was a very special man, mature while still able to enjoy life with the wonder and exuberance of a child. From the time he was a very young child, he had a special relationship with his grandparents and enjoyed visiting and later working on the farm. He continued to work with his uncle after his grandparents deaths. During his final illness, one of the things he enjoyed most, was to go for a ride with his dad to see his uncle Arthur at the farm. Arthur graduated from Murdock MacKay Collegiate, attended University of Manitoba, and worked in a number of fields until joining the staff of Club Regent. He enjoyed his position as a Surveillance Technician, as it combined his interest in computers, audio-video media, and organizational ability. Arthur had many and varied interests - paintball, writing, football, sports, games, reading, computers, films, and music. Arthur was diagnosed with cancer in May and fought this disease with determination, courage and grace. Arthur, our darling son, we will miss you so very much. Our special thanks to Dr. Pat Harris for her candour and ability, and to the wonderful, caring and overworked nurses and staff of 4 South, Grace Hospital. Viewing will be held tonight, Tuesday evening between 7:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. at the Transcona Funeral Chapel, 1800 Day St. Funeral service to follow on Wednesday, June 27 at 2:00 p.m. also at the chapel with Pastor Dan Abraham officiating. Burial at Sunnyside Cemetery. Your memory is our keepsake with which we will never part, God has you in His keeping, we have you in our heart. Transcona Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.
