IRENE VERA NIXDORF (nee ARNHOLD) Peacefully, on Sunday, June 24, 2001, Irene Nixdorf passed away at the Sunnywood Nursing Home. She will be lovingly remembered and missed by her son Dennis (Winnipeg) and his children, Robert and Erica (Manigotogan) daughter-in-law Cindy (Lac du Bonnet) brother Wes (Anne) and their children, Terence and Corey (Winnipeg) sister Evelyn (Addie) and their children, Jerry and Tim (Winnipeg) and her nephews, Jeremy, Jason and Nathan. She was predeceased by her husband Eric; son Barry and twin sister Edith and her parents, Robert and Olga. Irene was born in Greenwald, MB on April 3, 1920. She grew up in Gull Lake and attended school in Beaconia. She met her husband Eric in Gull Lake and was married on April 25, 1940. Irene and Eric moved to Bissett in 1945 where they raised their two sons. In 1966, upon the closing of the Bisset Gold Mine, they moved to Lac du Bonnet. Irene continued to reside there where she enjoyed being with family and friends. In November 1999 she moved into the Pine Falls Health Complex until her passing. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 28 at 2:00 p.m. at Sobering Funeral Chapel, Park Ave. E. Beausejour with Pastor Kolleen Karlowsky officiating. Interment will follow at the Gull Lake Cemetery. There will be viewing on Wednesday, June 27 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. also at the Chapel. The family would like to express a sincere thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff of the Pine Falls Health Complex. A special thank you to Cindy who gave much of her time and assistance over the years.
