Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMADELINE SANDERSON (nee CHARTRAND) Peacefully on Sunday, June 24, 2001 Madeline Sanderson passed away at the Teulon Hunter Memorial Hospital. Madeline was born in the Inwood District on April 1, 1918. She was predeceased by her husband Edgar in 1986 and her son Victor in 1972, also her 16 brothers and sisters. Madeline will be deeply missed by all her family who loved her very much. She leaves to mourn eight daughters and one son, Beatrice (Bill) McMahon of Teulon, Cecile (Albert) Rudolph of Narcisse, Annette (Ted) Welsh, Esther (Barney) Ducharme of Winnipeg, Denise (Wayne) Thomas of Grand Marais, Bernice (Fred) Chartrand, Florence (Bill) Hanslip, all of Winnipeg, Arther (Tracy) Sanderson of Petersfield and Eileen Sanderson and friend Paul of Winnipeg. She also leaves 27 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren and one sister-in-law Rosalie Chartrand and many nieces and nephews. Madeline was a kind and gentle person who loved life and people. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and playing cards. She also loved travelling and kept a journal of all her travels. For most of her life Madeline worked on the family farm. She also worked at the goose plant in Teulon for three years. She was a dedicated volunteer of various community service groups as well as a longtime executive member of the Manitoba Metis Federation Inwood Local. She was the proud recipient of the Canada 125 Medal which was a special issue medal presented by the Governor General on behalf of Queen Elizabeth II. It was presented to her on Canadas 125th Birthday in 1992 for the significant contributions she made to the community. The family wishes to express sincere appreciation to the health care workers and the staff at the Teulon Hospital. The family would especially like to thank our sister Cecile for being moms prime caregiver for the past few years. We also thank her husband Albert for his patience and support to his wife during this time. Prayers will be said on Wednesday, June 27 at 7:30 p.m. in the MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Teulon. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 28 at 11:00 a.m. at the Inwood Community Hall. Rev. Fr. Guy Lavallee along with Rev. Fr. Stan Gacek will officiate with interment to follow in the parish cemetery. Active pallbearers will be grandsons, Roland Richard, Mark and Gary Ducharme, Randal and Byron Thomas, Fred Chartrand Jr. and Derek Sanderson. Honorary pallbearers will be Leon Richard, Rod Ducharme, Danny Chartrand, Tammy Hanslip, Carmela Sanderson, Crystal McMahon and Melody Hawryluk. If friends so desire, donations in Madelines memory may be made to the Arthritis Society, 105 - 386 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB R3C 3R6.
