Gwen was my immediate supervisor in Winnipeg in the late 60's. Mrs. Banfield was known for her good business sense, compassion and "years-ahead-of-her-time"human rights mind-set with regard to hiring practices. For those who appreciated the opportunity, there was a happy productive working environment and a two-way loyalty. I had no idea that we had "lost" Gwen until I started to "search" for her today. Our last direct contact was in response to a condolence note I sent her when Bill died. I will always remember and cherish the mentoring and warm consideration that I received from Gwen.
