STUART COCHRANE CUMMING It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Stuart Cumming on June 24, 2001, peacefully at home with his family around him. Dad was predeceased by his wife of 57 years, Marion, in November of 2000. He will be sadly missed and forever remembered by his daughter Linda (Richard) Butler; sons, Bob, Larry (Pat), Randy (Jackie) and John; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his special "sister" Audrey Scott. Dad was born in Rossburn on October 14, 1922 and worked in bush camps at an early age. After moving into Winnipeg he worked for C.N.R. for 39 years and retired in 1982. Dad and Mum married on December 11, 1943, and after many busy years of raising their family, they spent their retirement travelling extensively with their trailer across Canada and the U.S. They enjoyed many winters south and made wonderful friends in the Good Sam Trailer Club. Dad, a lot of people know him as Stu, was a kind, hardworking person, always there to help his family and friends. He loved to tell a good story or share a joke, enjoyed fishing and going out to the cottage. His quick wit and sense of humour will be missed by all who knew him. Special thanks to Riverview Health Centre for their support (Dr. Marr and Alexandra) and to Rosa for her cheerful, tender presence. The family also wishes to thank friends who called and visited to brighten Dads days. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in memory of Stuart be sent to Riverview Health Centre Foundation, 1 Morley Ave., Winnipeg, MB. Memorial service will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 28 at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. A gathering for family and friends will be held in the Chapel Lawn Reception Centre following the service. Arrangements entrusted to: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME CEMETERY AND CREMATORIUM 885-9715
