MARY LINK (nee THOMAS) It is with deep sorrow we announce the peaceful passing of our dearly beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, Mary Link, with her partner of 30 years, Clem Kowalski, at her side, on Sunday, June 24, 2001, at age 84. She was predeceased by her husband, George; daughter Linda; brothers, Barney, Oswald, and Percy; and sisters, Elva, Anna, Greta, and Marg; and son-in-law Jack. Mary will be lovingly remembered by her children, Shirley, George (Ev), Joyce (John), Darlene (Yves), Laura (Dale), Marion, Donnie (Sue), Les, Doris, Alice (Rob), Louis (Liz), and Debbie; 24 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; brothers, Edward and Louis Thomas; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Her fondest memories were her times spent with her grandchildren and family. Mary enjoyed knitting, crocheting, embroidery, her flowers on the patio, and her owl collection. The family would like to thank the staff at the Grace Hospital, 3rd floor, for their kindness and care. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 102 - 310 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB R3C 0S6. The family would like to invite friends of Mary to join them on Thursday, June 28, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Chapel Lawn Reception Centre, 4000 Portage Ave., for a time of fellowship. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 29 at St. Phillips Anglican Church, Hodgson, MB, with Rev. Barry Bear officiating. Interment will follow in the Hodgson Cemetery and a reception for family and friends will take place at 3:00 p.m. at the Hodgson Legion.
