STEPHANIE HASIUK MITCHLER It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, dear mother, daughter, sister, aunt and best friend, Stephanie Mitchler. With her loving and devoted husband, Dan, by her side, Stephanie went to be with the Lord on Monday, June 25, 2001. Stephanie was born in Winnipeg on May 1, 1937, only daughter of Sam and Mary Hasiuk. She grew up in the north end, with her two brothers, Jerry and Ted, attending David Livingstone, William Whyte, Faraday and Isaac Newton schools. Stephanie went on to further her education at Normal School where she completed her teaching certificate. Early in her career with Seven Oaks School Division, she met the love of her life and best friend, Dan. They married in 1958 and were fortunate to walk lifes journey together, side-by-side, supporting each other through lifes challenges and celebrating in one anothers accomplishments. Stephanies career in Seven Oaks School Division brought many rewards and fond memories. She was an excellent elementary teacher who was highly regarded by her students and colleagues. With the birth of her first child, she left the classroom to completely devote her life to teaching and nurturing her own family. Stephanie fulfilled a lifelong dream, returning to school and receiving her Bachelor of Education in 1989, at age 52. Stephanie was a devoted and loving wife, mother and daughter, who always put others before herself. She enjoyed the simple pleasures of life: learning, love, and laughter. She shared in the accomplishments of her children, even in her time of illness. Stephanie was a longtime member of St. Josephs Ukrainian Catholic Church and UCWL. She was a person of great strength whose faith sustained her in difficult times. Stephanie led a virtuous life, setting an example of truth, courage, and sacrifice. She will be forever remembered and sadly missed by her husband Dan; son Gregory (friend Sandra) daughters, Mary-Ann and Patricia; father Sam; brother Jerry (Evelyn) of Palm Harbour, FL, and brother Ted (Jan) brother-in-law Edward (Adele) and sister-in-law Eleanor (Jack) nieces, Carol (John), Laura, Lisa, and Kim; nephews, Darren (Tanya) and John; her great-nieces, Amanda and Angela of Florida; Larissa and Emma; and many cousins in Ukraine. She was predeceased by her mother Mary in June 1991. Divine liturgy will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 28, at St. Josephs Ukrainian Catholic Church, 250 Jefferson Ave. Interment to follow in Holy Family Cemetery. Stephanie has left a hole in our family circle that no one else can fill. We are forever grateful for her life. We will always remember you. VICHNAYA PAMYAT! KORBAN FUNERAL CHAPEL 956-2193
