ERIC PARKER DFC It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Eric Parker, aged 79, who passed away peacefully, on Saturday, June 23, 2001 at the Victoria General Hospital. Remaining to forever cherish his memory are his beloved wife Doreen; his two sons, David (Jackie), Peter (Liz) Symonds; and his grandchildren, Marcia, Neil, Nicola and Emma who miss him so much. Eric was an R.A.F. Second World War Bomber Pilot flying Lancasters. He was awarded "The Deserving Flying Cross" (DFC) for completing 32 missions over enemy territory. He was a supportive member of the Wartime Pilots and Observers Association in Winnipeg, and also a 3rd degree Knight of Columbus. Prayers will be held on Wednesday evening, June 27 at 7:00 p.m., in Christ The King Roman Catholic Church, 847 St. Marys Rd. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, June 28 at 10:00 a.m., also in the church, with Rev. Fr. Renato Pasinato presiding. Interment will take place at a later date. Our sincere thanks to Dr. Brian Sharkey and Dr. S. N. Sinha, the nurses and all staff on unit 5 for their thoughtful care.
