GRACE GOODRIDGE At the age of 75 years, our beloved mother and grandmother, Grace Goodridge, lost her courageous battle with cancer, on June 26, 2001, at 1:30 p.m. in the Ashern Lakeshore General Hospital, she quietly slipped away, with her family and friends at her side. She is survived and will be greatly missed by her son Gary, his wife Linda, granddaughter Tanis; son Randy and his wife Bev, grandsons, Chas. and Damien. Grace was predeceased by her husband Don in 1969; three brothers, Bert, Dennis and John; and two sisters, Evelyn and Esther. A most important part of Graces life was her roll of Super Grandma to her grandsons, Chas. and Damien, from birth to manhood. Another significant time in her life were the 13 winters she spent in the Northwest Territories with her RCMP son Gary and his family, living the experience and adventures of a lifetime. Included in this were flights to unique places on military Hercules aircraft and RCMP twin Otters. Among other things, she worked as a guard in the RCMP cell blocks. During Graces entire life she cared about everyone else over herself. She was an admirable woman, a prime example in unselfishness. Cremation has taken place and a private family memorial service will be held in the Eriksdale Municipal Cemetery. The family wishes to express heartfelt thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at the Ashern Hospital - they were awesome; to the excellent professional care of Arnason Funeral services; loving concern and generosity of friends over this difficult time and especially, to grandson Damien for his unselfish devotion, right to the end.
