ROBERT (BOB) HODGE
Date of Passing: Jun 26, 2001
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROBERT (BOB) HODGE Peacefully, on Tuesday, June 26, 2001, at the Riverview Health Centre, Bob passed away at the age of 63 years. He was predeceased by his father Robert Hodge in 1951 and his mother Florence (Antaya) in 1991. Bob had an especially strong bond with his mother, with whom he shared many interests and activities. Bob leaves to cherish his memory his close friends, Jackie Rioux-Simpson, her husband William (Sandy) and their family. He also leaves to mourn his four cousins, Paul, Linda, Martin and Diane Clare of Winnipeg; longtime friend and fellow train enthusiast Bob Railian, Greg Brown, John Westwood, and his many good friends at the Salisbury House on St. Annes Road. Throughout his life Bob had an abiding passion for trains and planes. He had a thousand stories. Bob built his own vintage locomotive over a 10 year period - a labour of love. He volunteered his time and expertise to families at the "Scale Locomotive Model" run by the Manitoba Live Steamers Association of which he was a member since 1974. As a youth Bob spent time as an air cadet where his interest began. He could often be seen flying model airplanes for hours. Bob worked at Midland Railroad followed by 30 years of employment at Prairie Remanufacturing Company where he had many colleague friends. Our sincere thanks to the staff at Riverview Health Centre and Victoria General Hospital for their excellent care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, P.O. Bob is a very good person and he loved trains. He even gave me a train horn before I left the company to move to Vancouver in 1979. My condolences to the whole family and friends. Thank you. - Posted by: Ding Ocampo (I work at Prairie Remanufacturing Company in Des Meurons, Winnipeg, Manitoba as a supervisor and Bob) on: Feb 04, 2014
