Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFRANCES MAY McDERMID May 1, 1914 - June 25, 2001 Peacefully at Extendicare Tuxedo Villa Nursing Home, May McDermid passed away at the age of 87 years. She leaves in passing, her sons, Jim and wife Chris, son Allen and wife Jackie; daughter-in-law Nora; grandchildren, Gordon, Ruth, Glenn, Gail, Kevin, Sheila, Scott, Liana, Melanie, Brett and their families; as well as numerous great-grandchildren. May was predeceased by her husband Gordon; son Archibald Gordon; brothers, Jim, Archie; and sister Queenie; parents, Charlie and Frances Stewart. May was born in Brandon, MB on May 1, 1914. She moved to Portage la Prairie where she met Gordon McDermid and they moved to Winnipeg and were married on November 25, 1933. The family wishes to thank the nurses and support staff of Extendicare Tuxedo Villa for their loving care and attention. Funeral service will take place on Friday, June 29 at 11:00 a.m. at Kildonan United Church, 187 Kilbride Ave., Winnipeg. A graveside service will take place at Hillside Cemetery, in Portage la Prairie at approximately 1:45 p.m., that afternoon. Pallbearers are Merv Fitz, Glenn McDermid, Christopher McDermid, Paul Plunet, Dennis Morson. Honorary pallbearers are Gordon McDermid and George Jones. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society Manitoba Division, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg or to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, Unit 10 - 120 Donald St., Winnipeg.
