Date of Passing: Jun 23, 2001
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHELEN MUNDAY (nee VOPNI) Suddenly on Saturday, June 23, 2001 Helen passed away peacefully at the Grace Hospital at the age of 85. Her husband Ernie Munday predeceased Helen 14 years ago; as well as her mother Sigurbgorg Vopni; and father Jona; and all of her brothers and sisters. Helen is survived by her daughters, Eleanor Holstein and Don, Pat Pantuso and Rudy; and her son Ken Munday and Liz. She will be missed by her grandchildren, Jeff and Rachel Munday, Gerry and Darcie Munday, Mike Munday, Sheryl Mills, Darlene and Greg Foster, John Holstein, Karen Pantuso, Marnie and Rob Webb, and Kevin Pantuso; as well as her 10 great-grandchildren and her many nieces and nephews. Mom was a joy to be with and always wanted to join in at a gathering. She enjoyed her bowling and bingo at the Golden West Lodge, trying not to brag too much when she won the trophy. Mom graduated from the Jon Bjarnason Academy in 1932 and fell in love with Ernie shortly after. They were married in 1937 and enjoyed many years at Grand Beach and then later in Palm Desert before Dads untimely passing. The family thanks all the staff at the Golden West Lodge for their thoughtfulness and care, and her friend Jean Gatien. Friends are invited to celebrate Helens life at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 27 at Neil Bardal Inc., located at 984 Portage Ave. (Aubrey Street entrance). In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Golden West Centennial Lodge at 811 School Road in Moms memory would be appreciated. NEIL BARDAL INC. 949-2200
