MARY ELIZABETH FISCHER Mary was born Saturday, October 21, 1916 at Saskatoon, SK. She arrived in The Pas in 1947. She worked 37 years for the Hudson Bay Railway - Canadian National Railway as a stenographer and dispatcher. Mary enjoyed crocheting, knitting, cooking, and spending time at the cabin at Clearwater Lake. Her loving companion of 43 years, Leo, will remember Mary as a lady who was very generous, was very independent, and had a keen sense of humour. Mary passed away peacefully and with dignity, Wednesday, June 20, 2001 at St. Pauls Personal Care Home, The Pas, aged 84 years. She is survived by her longtime companion, Leo Paullus; son Hugh (Shirley) granddaughters, Dana Luke (Kevin), JoAnne Kellington (Bruce) grandson Robert Fischer; great-grandchildren, Shane Luke, Brett Luke, Aryn Kellington, and Bryan Kellington; sister Emily Crosby; as well as other relatives and friends. The funeral service was held Monday, June 25, 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel of Hemauer Funeral Home, The Pas, with James Hemauer presiding. Organist was Joyce Clarke. Following the service, everyone was invited to join with Marys family at the residence of her granddaughter JoAnne and Bruce Kellington, Ralls Island. If friends so desire, donations in Marys memory may be made to the St. Pauls Residents Fund, Box 240, The Pas, MB R9A 1K4. Hemauer Funeral Home, The Pas, were in care of arrangements. 623-3261.
