ANTONIN "TONY" GIRARD October 5, 1922 - June 29, 2001 On Friday, June 29, 2001, with his family by his side, Tony passed away at the St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 78 years. Tony was predeceased by his wife Germaine in 1995. Tony passed away after a lengthy battle with diabetes. His determination and strong will kept him going way beyond his expected time. He was and is an inspiration to all who knew him. He always loved sports and playing bingo. He could always be found working on his hangers and listening to whatever sporting event happened to be on the radio. Tony enjoyed going out to eat at restaurants and spending time with his family. Tony was a life member of the Knights of Columbus and an active lifetime member of the Norwood Legion. Tony is survived by his sons, Rolly and Michael (Suzanne) daughters, Agnes and Therese (Denis) Trudeau; grandchildren, Jeannine (Kevin), Renee, Garrett, Rachelle, Brian, Daniel, Courtney and Patrick; and one special great-grandchild Dylan; brother Alphonse (Anita) brother-in-law Gordon Bourns; sisters-in-law, Marie and Edna. He is now joining his beloved wife, parents, five brothers and five sisters. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 4 at 10:00 a.m. in the P. Coutu Funeral Chapel, 156 Marion St. with Rev. Fr. Bernard Boulanger officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Boniface Cemetery.
