Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDOROTHY MARY COATS Dorothy Mary Coats, daughter of the late Douglas R.P. and Amy Coats, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, June 20, 2001. Dorothy was born in Winnipeg on October 20, 1923, and lived there until 1960 when she moved with her parents to Calgary. She was a key punch operator with Sanford Evans Company in Winnipeg and Canadian Freightways in Calgary. Dorothy was very proud of her fathers achievement in pioneer radio broadcasting. She was very interested in family and Manitoba history, spending many hours in research. She was a member of the Winnipeg Xana and Calgary North Hill branches of the Professional and Business Womens Clubs, the Calgary Garden Club, the Manitoba and Alberta Historical Societies, and the "Daisies" of St. Gabriels Church. "Auntie Do" will be missed by her 11 nieces and nephews and 24 great-nieces and nephews of whom she was very fond. She is survived also by her brothers, John (Audrey) Coats of Calgary, Jim (Mary) Coats of Guelph, ON, and her sister Marjorie (John) Lawrence of Calgary. A memorial service was held at FOSTERS GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 - 4th St. N.W. (across from Queens Park Cemetery) in Calgary, AB, on Tuesday, June 26 at 1:00 p.m. FOSTERS GARDEN CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME, Directors. Telephone 403-297-0888.
