VIRGINIA RUTH DOUGLAS Peacefully, after a short illness, Virginia Douglas passed away at the Deer Lodge Centre at the age of 72. Virginia will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Susan and her grandson Kristopher, as well as her devoted pets, Hayley and Maxie. She will be sadly missed by many longtime friends. Born and raised in Montreal, Virginia moved to Winnipeg in 1963. She was very active in sports and especially enjoyed curling and golf. She was a Past-President of the Assiniboine-Memorial Curling Club. She enjoyed playing cards and belonged to several bridge clubs. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 4, 2001 at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. A reception will follow in the Chapel Lawn Reception Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations in Virginias memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 102 - 310 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB R3C 0S6 or the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation, 301 - 352 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3B 2H8.
