Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKENNETH HOWARD BRISCOE October 25, 1925 - June 28, 2001 Unexpectedly, on the afternoon of June 28, 2001, our brother Ken passed away, in his back yard, where he spent much time lovingly tending his flowers and garden. Ken, (familiarly known by "Zeke"), was a lifetime St. Vital resident, finishing his education at Norberry school, and soon after started work at Stevens Meat Market. He later moved to IGA, remaining for the balance of his career, retiring as Produce Manager. Living a "drive-shot" from Windsor Golf Club, he played endless rounds. Usually with a "sunrise start", often in company with his brothers. In the "hey-dey" of St. Vital fastball teams Ken played shortstop with the Eagles, with brother Dennis at first base. His cottage at Bird River later became a favourite weekend destination. Predeceased by parents John and Elizabeth, and brothers Dennis and James, Ken remained in the family home, and was seemingly ever busy. Surviving are brothers, Jack (Mary), Alan (Ellen), Raymond (Carol) and sisters, Lilian (Tom) Briggs; Hazel Dukelow, Cecilia (Ron) Bough, Elsie Williams, Bernice (Ken) Gibson, and Maureen (Jim) Turner. Also surviving are two sisters-in-law, Rita and Avis Briscoe, also many nieces and nephews. Ken will also be greatly missed by neighbour Harold Shiells. Funeral service will be held at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. (across from the Mint) on Friday, July 6, 2001 at 2:00 p.m. Arrangements entrusted to: GLEN LAWN FUNERAL HOME 455 LAGIMODIERE BLVD, 982-7550
