JAMES R. GOBIN December 3, 1933 - June 29, 2001 It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of James R. Gobin on Friday, June 29, 2001. Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 46 years Carmen; his loving children, David and wife Catherine of B.C., Elizabeth and husband David of Toronto, Angela of Ontario, Juana of Winnipeg, Pamela and husband Paul from Ontario; grandchildren, Sandra, Shawn, Dennis, Bruce, Colin, Miriam, Liam, Teryn, Daniel, Rhys, Ashley and Curtis. James was born in Guyana, South America and immigrated to Winnipeg, Canada in 1969. He worked for Flyer Industries, Motor Coach, Dominion Bridge, and Simon Day Ltd. to name a few. To Those I Love and Those Who Love Me When I am gone, release me, let me go .... I have so many things to see and do. You mustnt tie yourself to me with tears, Be happy that we had so many years. I gave to you my love, you can only guess How much you gave to me in happiness. I thank you for the love you each have shown, But now its time I traveled on alone. So grieve awhile for me, if grieve you must; Then let your grief be comforted by trust. Its only for awhile that we must part, So bless the memories within your heart. I wont be far away, for life goes on; So if you need me, call and I will come. Though you cant see me or touch me, Ill be near, And if you listen with your heart, youll hear All of my love around you soft and clear. And then, when you must come this way, alone Ill greet you with a smile and say Welcome home. The family would like to thank the wonderful and caring staff of the palliative care unit at St. Boniface Hospital. Viewing will take place on Wednesday, July 4 from 7:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m. at Bardal Funeral Chapel, 843 Sherbrook Street. Funeral service will be held on Thursday July 5 at 2:00 p.m. also in the Chapel.
