Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJEAN ANN (LUDWIG) HOFFER Beloved wife of Arthur John (Jack) Hoffer. On Saturday, June 30, 2001, Jean Hoffer passed away at the age of 82. She was born on January 11, 1919, in Elmira, ON, to William and Laura (Weichel) Ludwig. She was predeceased by her parents; her brother John Lewis (wife Florence) in-laws, Stewart Huehn, Frank Klinck, Kenneth McLauglin, and Stewart and Lloy Reichard; and stepfather Russel Ruppel. Jean is survived by her husband; daughter Cathie Weinstein (Joel), grandchildren, Sara Kohn (Sam) Benjamin, Michael; son William (Robyn Russell), and grandson David; also sisters-in-law, Ruth McLauglin, Trudy Klinck, Vivian Huehn, and Jean Wagner (Rev. Carl Wagner) also many nieces and nephews. Jean received her primary and secondary schooling in Elmira, and was a graduate of the Euler Business College of Kitchener. Before her marriage in September 1942 she was employed by the Royal Bank of Canada in Elmira and Mutual Life of Canada in Waterloo. She was a gentle, thoughtful, and loving mother and wife, cherished by her husband, children, grandchildren, and many relatives and friends. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service in remembrance of Jean will be held on Wednesday, July 4 at 11:00 a.m. in Thomson Funeral Chapels with Rev. James Scholz of the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer presiding. Interment will be in Elmira at a later date. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation, 301 - 352 Donald St., Winnipeg, The Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada 400 - 141 Bannatyne Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R3B OR3, or the charity of choice may be made.
