Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGUDRUN EIRIKKA (RIKKA) JAMESON It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our much loved Mother and Nana, Rikka on July 1, 2001. Mom is survived by her five children, Shirley, Barbara, Pat (Larry), John (Terry), Lynda (Tim) nine grandchildren, Leah, Doug, Kevin, Ryan, Jace, Shannon, Kalli, Jennifer, Jordy; one great-grandchild Hayley; one brother Thor; two sisters, Elsie and Barbara and numerous nieces and nephews. Mom was predeceased by her husband John; her parents, Sam and Maria Sigurdson; three brothers, one sister and her son-in-law Henry. Mom was born in Lundar, MB on November 15, 1924 and was always very proud of her Icelandic heritage. She moved to Winnipeg at a young age and joined the R.C.A.F. during Second World War. She met and married John (Red) during this time. They enjoyed their military life until Johns sudden passing in 1961. Mom was employed by Sears from 1961 until her retirement in 1982. She devoted her life to raising her children and helping those less fortunate than herself. She was a kind, compassionate woman and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was a friend to all. Mom was an avid hockey fan. She also enjoyed Bingo, bowling and baseball. Mom was a resident of Tuxedo Villa for the past 10 months. The family wishes to thank the staff for their wonderful care and kindness. Also many thanks to her companion Pat Bridges. We would like to thank the staff on the 5th floor at the Grace. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 4 at 2:00 p.m. at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Ave., Aubrey Street entrance.
