ROBERTA DOROTHY KEELER (nee DONNELLY) Peacefully on June 30, 2001 at Hillcrest Place in Brandon, MB, Roberta (Bert) Keeler passed away at the age of 84 years. Roberta was born in Stoughton, SK on September 18, 1916. She moved to Melgund, MB in 1937. She and Cecil Keeler were married on October 16, 1939. They farmed until 1977, when they retired and moved to Hartney, MB. They moved to Lions Manor, Brandon in 1988. Roberta was an active member of the United Church where she was a Sunday School teacher for 25 years and a member of Melgund and Hartney U.C.W. She was a C.G.I.T. leader and enjoyed taking the girls on camping trips. She joined Eastern Star in 1951 and was Worthy Matron in 1971. She joined Trinity United Church in Brandon in 1991. Roberta was a bell collector and a member of the American Bell Association. This brought her many hours of enjoyment through all the people she met in the Association and showing her bells to friends and groups. She enjoyed compiling the Keeler and Donnelly family history. Mom enjoyed family gatherings and being surrounded by her children and grandchildren. She was always an avid photographer and letter writer in her spare time. She and Cecil enjoyed travelling after their retirement. Roberta was predeceased by her husband Cecil; her parents, Nellie and Stan Donnelly; and brother Ralph. Roberta leaves to mourn her son Russell (Linda) of Ashern; grandchildren, Nicole and Sean of Winnipeg; daughter Joan of Winnipeg; brother Walter (Lois) of Stoughton; and sister Betty Wood (Leslie) of Victoria, BC. The family would like to thank the staff of Hillcrest Place for the excellent care and for their support. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service was held in Trinity United Church, Brandon, on Thursday, July 5 at 1:00 p.m., with Rev. John Nesbitt officiating. Interment followed at Rosewood Memorial Gardens.
