ELSIE S. McFERRAN (nee MYTTS) Peacefully, after a courageous battle with cancer, Elsie went to be with God on June 30, 2001 at the age of 53 years. To the end, she was surrounded by love, devotion and serenity from family and friends. She is survived by her husband John and son Brent; as well as sisters, Martha Landsborough, Olga Andreason (Sam), Helen Wick (Kurt), Sally Myslicki (Tony), Sonja Isaak (Art), Mabel Jones (Ron) and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Douglas and Mike; and her parents, Anne and Joe. Elsie was born and raised in Grandview, MB and completed her schooling in Dauphin and Winnipeg. She attended the University of Winnipeg and graduated from the Misericordia Hospital as a Registered Nurse. Elsie worked at the Emergency Departments in both the Childrens Hospital in Winnipeg and the Foothills Hospital in Calgary. She also worked at the Richmond West Clinic and with the Sheps Hair Transplant Centre. Elsie enjoyed life and was a caregiver to friends and patients. She always put the needs of others ahead of herself. Elsie was also known as a very hard worker, and so no matter what task was at hand, she did her very best. Elsie liked to take long walks with her friends and cooking for large family events. She tried to live life to the fullest and left a positive impression on friends and patients. Elsie will be missed by many people. Thanks to doctors, Krepart and Lotocki, nurses, Ann and Irene, and to the Palliative Care Team at St. Boniface Hospital, especially Christine. Also thanks to Dr. Sheps and his staff for their wonderful support and kindness. Elsie requested a Celebration of Life ceremony, which will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 4 in the Buntain Chapel at Calvary Temple, 400 Hargrave St. Pallbearers will be Eric Andreason, Yardley Ploegman, Ron Jones, Bill Landsborough, Lloyd Leganchuk and Douglas Letwin. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either the Calvary Temple Summer Camp program or the Childrens Wish Foundation. THOMSON FUNERAL CHAPELS 783-7211
