Left to cherish her memory are her children Bohdan Bud (Pat) Semchuk of Ottawa, Eleanore (George) Balacko and George (Maxine) Semchuk of Winnipeg. She will also be lovingly remembered by her adored grandchildren, Jon (Jodi) Semchuk, Joel (Michele) Semchuk, Gina (Paul) Sunderland, Robert (Kathryn) Balacko, Natasha Balacko (friend David), all of Winnipeg, also Tanya (Ted) Williamson of Ottawa, and Natalie Semchuk (Bill) of Quebec. Baba will be dearly missed by her great-grandchildren, Jaime, Brooke and Codi Semchuk, Reid and Joel Sunderland, Max and George Semchuk. Pearl is also survived by her sister Rose Wilke of Selkirk, MB. Mom was predeceased by her parents, John and Nellie Romas, husband John, brother Walter and daughter-in-law Sylvia. Mom was born in Winnipeg. Shortly after her marriage she moved to Pine Ridge, MB where she operated a grocery store during the war years. Upon her return to Winnipeg she worked at Western Glove and later for many years as a store manager for Wescott Fashions. Pearl was an active member of the Holy Family Church and as her passion was cooking, she spent many happy hours in the church kitchen with her lady friends preparing dinners for the many church functions. We would like to thank Barb, Lita and Pat the homecare nurses and the homecare girls, Sue, Eugenie, Cathy and Marlene for their compassionate care when Moms health started to fail. Thank-you to the staff on the 5th floor at the Victoria General Hospital for their excellent care during the past six weeks. Divine liturgy will be celebrated on Thursday, July 5, 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Ukrainian Catholic Church, 1001 Grant Ave., with Rev. Fr. Andrew Wach and Rev. Fr. Michael Winn officiating. Pallbearers will be Jon and Joel Semchuk, Robb Balacko, Paul Sunderland, David Humeny and Ed Rozwood. Burial will be at All Saints Cemetery at a later date. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Holy Family Parish Renovation Repair Fund.
