REX AMES It is with a great sense of loss that the family announces the passing of Rex Ames on July 2, 2001 at the Royal Jubilee Hospital, Victoria, BC. Rex is survived by Hazel, his wife of 52 years; his son, Les; and two daughters, Laurel (Drew Lawson) and Lynda (Lincoln Frey) grandchildren, Jenta MacKenzie (Laurel), Xavier (Les), Glynis and Erica (Lynda) and one great-grandson, Jackson Barker (Jenta). Rex was born August 29, 1926 and grew up in Saskatchewan. He served in the Canadian Forces for 25 years. He then moved to Winnipeg where he was employed in various positions for another 15 years. In 1984, Rex and Hazel retired to Victoria where he enjoyed an active social life. A memorial service will be held on Monday, July 9 at the McCall Brothers Funeral Home, Victoria, BC.
