Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryVIRGINIA CLARICE MacKENZIE Virginia Clarice MacKenzie died peacefully at the Convalescent Home of Winnipeg on Tuesday, July 3, 2001. Virginia will be lovingly remembered by her four children, 14 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Vicki and John Novak of Chicago, IL, their children, Jeffrey, Kerri, Kristi, and Jodi, and their grandchildren, Nicolette, MacKenzie, Eva and Marcella; Sandra Bolin of Winnipeg and her children, Jennifer, Grant, and Christopher; Alistair MacKenzie of White Rock, BC and his children, Kelly, Jay, and Carolynn; and Lacy and Dave Sanders of Winnipeg and their children, David, Christa, Gillian, and James. Virginia will also be remembered as a loved mother-in-law by Lynda MacKenzie and Roy Bolin. Virginia was predeceased by her husband James Grant MacKenzie; her parents, Arthur Lalonde and Blanche Barbeau; her two brothers, Arthur and Leo Lalonde; and her sister Corinne Burke. She is survived by her sisters, Marie Fraser and Aurelie Blick. Virginia was born in Winnipeg on August 25, 1913. She was educated at St. Marys School and St. Marys Academy in Winnipeg. Mom stayed at home and raised her family until Jims death in 1964. During her years at home she was very involved in the Catholic Womens League and the parish of St. John Brebeuf. She then went to work at Holt Renfrew, becoming manager of the Polo Park store and holding other managerial positions before her retirement in 1984. The family would like to thank Home Care Services and the Victorian Order of Nurses, who helped Virginia stay in her own home at 64 Nassau St. N. until January of this year, and the nurses and staff of the Convalescent Home of Winnipeg who were so attentive and compassionate in their care. Prayers will be said at St. John Brebeuf Church, 1707 John Brebeuf Place at Lanark Street, at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 5. Funeral mass will be held at St. John Brebeuf Church at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 6. Private interment to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
